Winemaking notes
South Australia’s Barossa Valley has a global reputation for producing some of Australia’s and the world’s finest red wines. The Allegiance Wines Local Legend GSM is an extraordinary example of how exceptional Barossa and this red blend can be. Blended post fermentation with a proportion of whole berry in open fermenter with 9 days on skins. Carefully matured in older French oak puncheons for approximately 10 months with the Grenache component remaining on lees for this time.

Colour
Vibrant purple and crimson
Nose
Spicy earth and blackberry aromas courtesy of the Grenache with the Shiraz adding hints of liquorice and Mataro giving attractive floral notes.
Palate
Fleshy medium bodied palate with enthralling complexity and texture. The palate is dazzled with silky smooth fruit characters of blackberries, blueberries, plums and spicy cherries.

Dedication
Dedicated to those who give their all for the community
John Savage (OAM) was a local legend. Born in Ballina NSW in 1932, he dedicated his life to education as a teacher for 4 decades. To most that would be enough, however John’s amazing work ethic saw him donate his time and talents to dozens of local, regional, state and national volunteer organisations. When John passed in 2016, our community lost a local icon. His humble approach meant that the enormity of his contributions only came to light upon reflection. My family was blessed to have John and his beautiful wife Lida as our neighbours for over 50 years. John will be missed by not only the family and friends who loved him, but the community to which he gave so much. This is the perfect wine to raise a toast to a man who has set an example for us all to aspire to. One to be savoured in its greatness – just like the man himself.

94 points (5 stars) – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit It is sweetly fragrant on the nose showing dark plum, raspberry, smoked game, olive and cedar characters. The palate is succulent and plump with seductive spicy nuances, wonderfully supported by silky texture and flowing mouthfeel. It is delightfully fruited and mouthfilling. A gorgeous rendition of GSM. At its best: now to 2025.
90 points – James Halliday A 35/33/32% blend, blended after fermentation, matured for 10 months in used French oak. Deep crimson-purple; this is a full-bodied version of the blend, altogether surprising in the context of the vintage. It's all about fruit, not tannins or texture. Will appeal to committed carnivores.
90 points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review Deep red/purple colour with a reserved, sweet, cassis, berry-like aroma, the palate sweetly-flavoured and tightly-packed, focused and linear. It's ripe and bold, brightly-framed and fresh with energy and potential. It's a tad straightforward now and has stacks of potential.
