Wine making notes
The rich Terra Rossa soils of the Coonawarra region in South Australia provide the foundation for some of the world’s best Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was produced with premium grade fruit from an immaculately managed 40 year old vineyard. After 10 days on skins this parcel spent 20 months in carefully selected 33% new French oak barriques with the remainder in older barriques. The result is a classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon that whilst drinking well now has a cellar potential of 15+ years.

Colour
Deep brick red with youthful purple hues.
Nose
Aromas of fruits of the forest and earthy spice characters.
Palate
The palate is full and rich with the dark berry fruit and succulent oak in perfect balance. The tannins are firm but attractive and complementing the intensity and concentration of this full bodied wine. It is a powerful but elegant Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.

Shoulder to shoulder we stand with pride, love and unity
Erik de Haart survived one of Australia’s worst tragedies - the 2002 Bali bombings. The heartbreaking loss of his Coogee Dolphins team mates & the horrendous aftermath of the attack will never leave him. Whilst his courageous and selfless efforts on that terrible night saved many lives, Erik personally retreated from the hero tag that everyone else believed he deserved. After many years of suffering in silence, Erik has displayed even more courage to bring attention to one of our society’s most insidious dangers – the mental anguish he suffers through the guilt of those he couldn’t save. Erik’s powerful story will continue to assist other people in our community to seek assistance with their own problems. Whilst we will never know the ever present emotional pain he endures, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Erik in pride, love & unity. Young, deep colour. Toast, smoke, eucalyptus and red and black berry fruits on the nose. Chewy, warm palate with an aromatic spectrum that successfully combines oak, fruit and spice. Beautifully mouth-filling breadth of tannins. Textbook power. |

97 points (5 Stars) – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit It’s dense yet bright and fragrant, showing crème de cassis, mulberry, violet, anise and cigar box characters on the nose. The palate exhibits outstanding concentration and depth, superbly complemented by plush mouthfeel and wonderfully pitched tannins. Multi-layered, harmonious and immensely complex. At its best: 2022 to 2038.
97 points (5 Stars) – Leo Daly, Wine Matrix Deep dark red in colour, some stewed rhubarb and spicy notes on the nose. Initial impressions deliver a full bodied and robust Cabernet with chocolate, blackcurrant and cedary oak characters. Together with clever oak maturation, the 14.5% alcohol is not overly evident as the wine is splendidly balanced. A seriously good example of ‘high end’ Coonawarra Cabernet. It will age well over the next 10 years.
95 points – Rob Geddes MW Deep and dense and that’s just the colour! It’s a solid expression of Coonawarra with sweet fruit aromas aplenty, black currants, violets and an edge of mint hovering in the distant aromas. Its packed with tannins and frit and fills the mouth. 94 points (4 Stars) – Nick Butler, The Real Review More red than purple colour - no glass stainer here. Very young; quality oak jutting above the faintest hint of cassis, a saline freshness too. Fruit is definitely lurking - currently wrapped in tannin and dried herb sinew. It's best undoubtedly ahead. Drink 2021-2032.
