Wine making notes	Sangiovese is one of Italy's most famous red wine varieties being the main component of Chianti. Sourced from premium 20 year old McLaren Vale vines using H6V9 and MAT 7 clones. Destemmed and whole berry open fermentation before 8 days on skins. Pressed to tank and then 100% old French Hogsheads post malolactic for 12 months. The Artisan is a great example of the elegance and refinement that Sangiovese can display on its own.

Nose	Lifted aromas of dark plum and fresh cherries.
Palate	The palate has a classy tannin structure which gives a velvety mouth feel. The earthiness and attractive savoury spicyness deliver a complete package. This wine a great example of the complexity of well made Sangiovese. The McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate is perfect for this varietal. Potential cellaring of 6+ years.

Reviews	92 points (4.5 Stars) – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit Sweetly fruited and richly savoury, the wine shows lifted aromas of dried cherry, plum, game, leather and toasted nuts on the nose, leading to a beautifully rounded palate that is supple and smooth. The wine offers ripe berry flavours together with spicy/savoury notes, finishing lingering and silky. At its best: now to 2021. 92 points - Stephen Read, Wine Matrix Very approachable with cherries, mint and dark fruits all adding to the complexity of the bouquet. Well balanced with great dark fruits along with silky tannins, spice and good acid. Good length to the finish leaving you satisfied with the wine. Will improve with age 4+ years.
